Yesterday at Cinemacon 2016, Sony and Marvel made their stand alone Spider-Man movie’s title, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ official. The title references Peter Parker’s high school age, as well as a meta-reference to Spidey, slinging his way into the MCU. I mean, he is their most universally loved property. (It also references ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ issue #252 for all you nerds like me out there.)

As of now, the film is supposed to be in theaters on July 7, 2017. Jon Watts is directing, Tom Holland is Peter Parker/Spider-Man, and Marisa Tomei is Aunt May. You can see your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man on May 6th in Captain America: Civil War. (And apparently they showed some Aunt May/Tony Stark footage at CinemaCon too.)

Can’t wait for this one!

Keep on Watchin’!
